The Program:
Individuals carve a Christmas Ornament and donate it to The River Valley
Wood Carvers Club. The ornaments, after judging, are hung on a Christmas Tree in the Pediatric
Ward at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Children in this Ward
during the Christmas Season, may select an ornament from the tree to keep. There is a limit of one ornament per child.
General thoughts. Carve an item that will appeal to a child. Ornament judging will place an emphasis on
“Child Appeal.” Remember, a kid is
looking at a tree full of ornaments and trying to decide “Which one do I want
to take home with me?” Make it a fun
thing for a young person. Paint your ornament using colors that a child will be attracted by.
